If there’s one spice you need in your life, turmeric is it. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, immunity booster, pain killer, and anti-depressant. It also supports digestion and manages cholesterol, diabetes, and cancer. It rocks! But like any powerful food, a little goes a long way!
Electrolyte Sports Drink with Ginger and Turmeric
3 slices fresh ginger
2 cups coconut water
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp coconut nectar/maple syrup
1 dropper full of marine phytoplankton (optional)
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp pink salt
2 drops black pepper essential oil (or a pinch of black pepper)
Place all in a high speed blender and blend on high for a few minutes. Strain out ginger pulp using a nut milk bag and store in the fridge for 4 days – take a swig when you’re needing a boost of warmth and are feeling dehydrated. This is also a great companion on a long hike.
